What type of diamond engagement ring should I buy?
In many cases your budget will help determine what type of engagement ring to buy. At Outrageous Diamonds, we sell three different classes of diamond rings and there are many categories of diamonds within each class. These include 1) GIA and EGL certified diamonds 2) Independently appraised certified diamonds, (GAL, UGL) and 3) Clarity enhanced certified diamonds (GAL, UGL). While it is common knowledge that GIA and EGL certified diamonds are the greatest quality, they are also the most expensive and dont always the have the greatest value. For consumers looking to get a lot of bang for their buck, we usually suggest clarity enhanced diamonds which typically cost half the price and the customer gets double the carat weight. The wives like this fact too! Lets go more in depth on each type of certification:
1) GIA and EGL Certified Diamonds: All of our GIA and EGL certified diamonds come with the actual certificate issued with the diamond. We have an inventory of over 3000 loose diamonds worth over $30,000,000, so were confident youll find a stone of your liking. If you cant find the stone youre looking for, please call us and one of our representatives would be happy to contact our resources in Israel and Belgium to find your diamond. GIA certified diamonds are the same exact type of diamonds you would find at Tiffanys; they are the Rolls Royce of Diamond certifications. Thankfully we dont have the $1 billion of overhead that Tiffany has and are able to pass that a billion dollars of savings on to you J. GIA has the strictest grading criteria for any lab, and for that reason, the most meticulous diamond collectors always stick with GIA certified diamonds. If you demand the best of the best and have the budget, GIA and EGL are the right choice for you. A 1.00 ct round, in the H color, VS2 clarity range will cost in the neighborhood of $6000 and can go up to $10,000 or more for superior color/clarity combinations.
2) Independently Appraised Certified Diamonds: GAL and UGL are two labs in NYCs diamond district, owned and operated by GIA certified gemologists. These labs issue the insurance appraisal certifications for GIA certified diamonds as well as independently appraise diamonds without a GIA report. Since diamonds with a GAL or UGL appraisal look near identical to the naked eye, many customers choose this option because they would rather save money buying a diamond without a GIA report. These are the same type of diamonds which are sold at many chain jewelry stores such as Zales and Kay Jewelers. Again, we do not have the overhead of these huge chain stores and pass the savings directly to our customers. A 1.00 ct princess, in the F color, SI1 clarity range will cost in the neighborhood of $4500. Those customers looking for a beautiful certified diamond and are satisfied with a Mercedes, doesnt need the Rolls Royce, this is the diamond for you.
3) Clarity Enhanced Certified Diamonds: GAL and UGL also certify our clarity enhanced diamonds. CE (clarity enhanced) diamonds enable the customer to get the most bang for their buck. You will get the cleanest to the naked eye and largest diamond for your money possible. Make no mistake: Clarity enhanced diamonds are 100% real natural diamonds, the same diamonds found in the earth which become GIA certified diamonds. CE diamonds start out with a lower clarity grade, for instance SI3 and after the enhancement process the diamond will look like an SI1 to the naked eye. For those on a budget or looking to get a HUGE diamond at an otherwise unattainable price, clarity enhanced is definitely for you. A 1.00 ct Princess, will cost you anywhere from $2000 - $3500 and a nice 2.00 ct can be purchased for as little as $5000 or up to $10,000 for the best!
FOUR C'S - COLOR, CUT, CLARITY, CARAT
When purchasing diamonds it is always a good idea to be educated about your purchase. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) grades diamonds according to the four Cs: cut, color, clarity and carat weight. The interplay of the four Cs determines a diamond's value. A diamond's value rises as its size, or carat weight increases likewise the value will increase or decrease dependent upon the color, clarity and cut.
Carat - The carat weight determines how large and heavy the diamond is. Usually, the larger the stone, the more costly it is.
Clarity- Clarity refers to the number of spots or inclusions in a diamond.
Cut- The proper cut enhances a diamond's capacity to reflect light and makes it sparkle more. Diamonds come in all shapes and sizes. It depends on your personal preference.
Color - Most diamonds contain slight traces of yellow or brown and the more colorless a diamond is the greater its value.
Why Buy Clarity Enhanced Diamonds?
Clarity Enhancement TECHNOLOGY: Every diamond has internal structural inclusions created either during the process of crystallization of the diamond or during the polishing process. The clarity enhancement process is a state-of-the-art technology that optically eliminates those internal inclusions in diamonds and improves their brilliance and clarity. Simply stated, the process uses a glass-like material which adds virtually no weight to the diamond. It coats the inside surface of fractures or 'feathers' in diamonds with transparent material whose optical characteristics and its refractive index are almost the same as a natural diamond. The coating masks the fracture to the naked eyes!
YOU DON'T NEED TO SETTLE FOR A SMALL DIAMOND.
The extraordinary modern technological process allows you, the diamond buyer, to get more affordable REAL diamonds that look identical in appearance to natural diamonds costing much more.
Sales of Clarity Enhanced Diamonds are growing tremendously. Today hundreds of thousands of Clarity Enhanced Diamonds are in the market. Clarity Enhanced Diamonds are used for diamond rings, earrings, pendants, tennis bracelets and more!
NOW YOU CAN BUY A MUCH LARGER AND MORE BEAUTIFUL NATURAL DIAMOND FOR YOUR MONEY THAN EVER BEFORE!
IMPORTANT: proper care guidelines must be followed so as not to impair your clarity enhanced diamond. Heat above 1500 degrees should not be applied directly to the stone. Jewelry cleaners containing acids should not be applied to the stone. We guarantee for life our C.E. Diamonds for breaking, cracking, enhancement coming out, etc.
